Overview/Description
To introduce the learner to IDS Event Viewer and IDS Management Center

Target Audience
Enterprise network engineers; network system analysts; Cisco partners who implement Cisco IDS on networks; systems engineers who support the sales of Cisco IDS

Prerequisites
Experience in configuring Cisco IOS software; certification as a CCNA or the equivalent knowledge; a basic knowledge of the Windows operating system; familiarity with the networking and security terms and concepts

Objectives:

Cisco IDS System Management

  • install the IDS Event Viewer and add IDS devices.
  • use the Event Viewer to create custom views and display alarm data.
  • create filters and configure the IDS Event Viewer to meet specific requirements.
  • access and navigate IDM, install the IEV, add the IDS devices to the list of devices monitored by the IEV, and monitor Cisco IDS events using the IEV.
  • install the IDS Management Console for a given scenario.
  • use the IDS Management Console to deploy new Sensor configuration files.
  • install and launch IDS Management Center.
  • deploy configurations to Sensors and create a deployment report.
