Objectives:
Monitoring and Maintaining Cisco IDS
install and launch Security Monitor.
configure the Security Monitor by adding and monitoring devices and adding event rules.
identify and use Security Monitor event viewing and reporting features.
identify the functions of the preference settings that you can use to customize the display in Event Viewer.
identify how to administer the Security Monitor and generate reports.
install the Security Monitor and use it to create an email event rule and generate reports.
install IDS signature updates and service packs and upgrade a Sensor and an IDSM to an IDS major release version.
update the IDS Sensor service pack and verify that the update was applied.
