Overview/Description
One of the most difficult things you will do as a manager is to tell an employee that his or her working relationship with the company must end. When you take this course, you will learn specific steps to follow when terminating someone's employment due to layoffs, performance problems or misconduct. You will then have the opportunity to apply what you've learned in a role play.
Of course, the best way to avoid firing an employee is to do a good job of hiring and managing performance. Therefore, you will learn how to prevent this unpleasant task by interviewing effectively, and by using progressive discipline.
