Overview/Description
 "Know your client" is a key to business success. Any company that is interested in selling goods or services to the United States Federal Government must understand this very important client. In this course, you will learn how you as a citizen and a business person relate to the Federal Government through a system of rights and responsibilities.

Target Audience
 Business professionals who sell goods and services to the Federal Government, and those persons who must deal with the Federal Government to obtain permits, licenses, and address other regulatory needs.

The Federal Constitution

  • recognize the benefits of learning about the American Constitution and how it protects individual rights.
  • identify the Articles in the Constitution that define each of the three branches of the federal government.

  • recognize the benefits to businesspeople of learning about the American Bill of Rights.
  • match fundamental rights with the appropriate amendments in the Bill of Rights.
  • match the Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Amendments with the rights that they provide to accused persons.
  • identify descriptions of how the Ninth and Tenth Amendments in the Bill of Rights relate to constitutional rights and powers.

  • recognize ways in which learning about the constitutional amendments that follow the Bill of Rights can benefit you as a business person.
  • match key constitutional amendments to descriptions of how they have expanded individual rights since the end of the American Civil War.
