Mentoring Essentials Simulation
Overview/Description
You are a Team Leader for the Wireless Technology Group, a research department within The Research Company that focuses on collecting and analyzing data on wireless technologies. You are heading up a new research project that deals with forecasting advertising revenue for wireless communication tools over the next five years. While managing this project, you have also been assigned Tilly Newman, a new hire in your department, to be your protege.
Your responsibilities within this simulation are to inform Tilly of company policies, prepare an Action Plan for her professional development, and guide Tilly through personal and professional problems. During this first month, you will practice: supportive listening, giving effective feedback, guiding by asking questions, advocating for your protege, maintaining professionalism through problems, and much more.
The simulation is based on the SkillSoft series Mentoring Essentials and contains links to the following SkillSoft courses: MGMT0251, MGMT0252, and MGMT0254.
