To introduce students to mainframe navigation tools

Prospective IT managers, application developers, systems programmers, system integrators, network administrators

Prerequisites
No mainframe computing experience or knowledge is necessary, but an understanding of computer hardware and operating systems is assumed; the previous courses in the Mainframe curriculum

Objectives:

Mainframe: Navigation

  • To introduce the basic features of TSO and ISPF, and explain how to access and navigate TSO
  • To describe some of the features and functions of Interactive System Productivity Facility
  • To describe how the Job Entry Subsystem (JES) works
