Prerequisites
The previous courses in the Mainframe curriculum; an understanding of computer hardware and operating systems is assumed, but no mainframe computing experience or knowledge is necessary

Objectives:

Mainframe: CICS Fundamentals

  • To introduce the main features of Customer Information Control System (CICS)
  • To introduce the main features of 3270 terminals, Basic Mapping Support (BMS), and pseudoconversational design
  • To introduce the different types of startup, shutdown, recovery, and backout procedure used in CICS
