Project Communications Management Simulation
Overview/Description
You are the director of research and development at Cosmetech Inc., an ingredients supplier for the cosmetic industry. The R&D department has just uncovered a new enzyme that could revolutionize anti-aging creams. To promote this new enzyme, the marketing department would ordinarily organize a free, executive meeting for a select list of representatives from leading cosmetic manufacturers. But the boss has a new idea. He wants to organize a national conference to publicize the technology, invite the best researchers in the industry as speakers, and do a mass marketing campaign to attract 100 or more paying attendees.
In addition to organizing the content for the meeting, you are designated as the overall project manager for this event. The boss provides an initial project plan, but while a small infrastructure is in place for the executive meetings, you must create a solid communications management plan to ensure the success of this much larger program.
This simulation is based on the Project Communications Management (PMBOK 2000) series and contains links to the following SkillSoft courses: PROJ0481, PROJ0482, and PROJ0483.
