Basic First Aid Techniques
Overview/Description
OSHA requires an employer to provide a safe and healthy workplace that is reasonably free of occupational hazards. Nevertheless, accidents do happen. Therefore, employers are also required to provide medical and first aid personnel and supplies proportional to the hazards of the workplace.
This course teaches basic first aid techniques for employees and managers employed in general industry. Topics include recognizing emergency situations and caring for trauma injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, and common ailments such as fainting and poisoning. This course assists in addressing the nonmandatory OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910 Subpart K Sections 151-152.
