First Aid for Medical Emergencies
Overview/Description
Because medical emergencies can occur in the workplace and at any time, OSHA requires employers to provide medical and first aid personnel and supplies to effectively handle a variety of emergencies.
This course helps employees and managers employed in general industry to respond to the more common medical emergencies that may arise in the office. Topics include recognizing and helping victims of cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, diabetic emergencies, seizures, strokes, and emergency pregnancy situations. This course assists in addressing the nonmandatory OSHA standard Title 29 CFR 1910 Subpart K Sections 151-152.
This course provides a brief overview of first aid procedures for certain medical emergencies. The course does not provide complete or comprehensive training for any of the first aid procedures described in the course. Completion of this course does not certify the course user to undertake emergency medical procedures. When faced with a medical emergency, course users should immediately call 911 or seek other professional emergency medical assistance. |p
