Laboratory Safety

Overview/Description
Most workplaces present well-recognized hazards--fire, for instance--and the precautions to be taken are well known. Laboratories, however, involve a greater variety of possible hazards than do most workplaces, and some of those hazards call for precautions not ordinarily encountered elsewhere. This course teaches learners safe work practices to help protect them from injury. Learners will also become familiar with common laboratory emergency equipment and how to use it correctly. This course is designed to align to OSHA standard Title 29 CFR 1910.1450. This SkillSoft Corporation training course has been reviewed by attorneys from the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, Professional Association, of Manchester, New Hampshire. The content of this training course is an accurate statement of federal law and attendant regulations as to the matters covered as of the date reviewed. Due to the rapidly changing nature of the law, information in this course may become outdated.
