Personal Protective Equipment
Overview/Description
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protects you, your coworkers, and your livelihood when hazards are present in the workplace. Personal protective equipment is not a substitute for good work practices or controls. No single combination of personal protective equipment or clothing is capable of protecting you from all hazards, so PPE must be used in conjunction with guards, engineering controls, and administrative controls to ensure your safety and health.
In this course you will learn what OSHA requires. This includes training on what PPE is necessary, when it is necessary, the limitations of PPE, and the proper care, maintenance, useful life, and disposal of PPE. This course addresses OSHA standard Title 29 CFR Part 1910.132.
This SkillSoft Corporation training course has been reviewed by attorneys from the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, PA, of Manchester, New Hampshire and Boston, Massachusetts for accuracy under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (the "Act") and certain regulations promulgated pursuant to the Act by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration ("OSHA"), as to the matters covered and as of the date reviewed.
