Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Awareness


Overview/Description
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has regulated the treatment of hazardous waste with CFR 1910.120, the Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) standard. The standard has 17 sections, including regulations on how to write safety and health emergency response plans, site characterization, medical surveillance, training, engineering controls, monitoring, personal protective equipment, sanitation, drum handling, and decontamination. In part, this course offers an overview of the standard and can be applied to any of the refresher training defined by CFR 1910.120, paragraph (e).
