Emergency and Disaster Readiness


Overview/Description
An employee neglected to follow the rules while working on a chemical storage tank. Now there is a large chemical spill. Is your company prepared? An explosion has occurred in your plant and a fire has erupted. Do employees know the fire evacuation plan? This course, Emergency and Disaster Readiness, outlines the basic steps you can take to handle emergency situations such as these. Such emergencies may include natural disasters, fires, the release of toxic gases, chemical spills, fires, bomb threats, and trauma caused by workplace violence. This course is not intended to be an exhaustive review of emergency safety programs. Rather it is intended to give you guidelines for emergency planning. This course addresses in part Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulation 29 CFR 1910.38, Emergency Action Plans.
